In an era where African entrepreneurship is increasingly defined by scale, responsibility, and long-term vision, Dotun Ajibola stands out as a founder building institutions rather than just companies.
As Founder and Group Executive of Olimage Group, Ajibola leads a diversified enterprise spanning management consulting, mining, renewable energy, and institutional advisory, with a clear mission: to drive sustainable development across Africa.
Ajibola formally launched De Olimage Company in 2010 as a consulting practice focused on governance, systems development, and institutional effectiveness. Over time, that vision expanded beyond advisory into resource-led development, giving rise to Olimage Mining Ltd and later Olimage Energy, the Group’s renewable power platform. Today, Olimage Group operates at the intersection of strategy, sustainability, and impact.
“My goal was never to build a traditional consulting firm,” Ajibola said. “From the beginning, the ambition was to create a platform that strengthens institutions and unlocks Africa’s long-term potential.”
The mining arm of the Group focuses on responsible mineral exploration, environmental stewardship, and host-community development. Rather than pursue rapid extraction, Olimage Mining emphasizes sustainable asset development, regulatory compliance, and social inclusion. This approach, Ajibola notes, is rooted in long-term value creation. “Mining must serve both economic growth and community wellbeing. Anything else is short-term thinking.”
Olimage Energy reflects a similar philosophy. The division develops renewable power solutions, including solar and emerging technologies, to expand access to clean and reliable energy. Its mandate extends beyond infrastructure delivery to advisory services that support Africa’s transition to sustainable energy systems. “Energy access is foundational to development,” Ajibola said. “When communities have reliable power, productivity, education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship all improve.”
Alongside mining and energy, Olimage’s consulting and evaluation divisions remain core to its operations. The firm works with governments, development partners, and private enterprises across strategy development, monitoring and evaluation, institutional strengthening, and capacity building. This multidisciplinary model allows the Group to design solutions that address both structural and operational challenges.
At the heart of Ajibola’s leadership philosophy is a belief in relationship-driven business. He describes trust, integrity, and collaboration as the pillars of enduring institutions. “Business is fundamentally about people,” he said. “When trust exists, execution becomes easier, partnerships deepen, and impact multiplies.”
That approach has enabled Olimage Group to cultivate strong partnerships with regulators, investors, policymakers, and host communities. Industry observers credit this relational strategy for the Group’s ability to navigate Nigeria’s complex regulatory landscape and expand into multiple sectors without compromising governance standards.
Looking ahead, Ajibola envisions Olimage Group becoming a pan-African leader in sustainable mining, renewable energy, and strategic consulting. “Our ambition is to demonstrate that African enterprises can operate at global standards while remaining deeply rooted in local values,” he said
