Verdant Zeal’s summit to spotlight Africa’s creative industry

Verdant Zeal, nation’s leading marketing communications company, is set to hold the 10th edition of its annual ‘Innovention Series’ tagged: ‘African Content & New Consciousness’.

Coming as a virtual event on Thursday, October 20, 2022, this year’s edition will seek to enlighten and spur interest in local content viewership globally, and also create a channel for networking and building relationship among key film and entertainment industry players.

With the discussion panel moderated by TV host, Bolanle Olukanni, filmmaker/CEO, Zuri24 Media, Mr. Femi Odugbemi will deliver the keynote address. Joining Odugbemi on the panel are personalities like REDTV’s creative director, Obinna Okerekeocha; Yemisi Falaye and Akinyemi Ayinoluwa, both entertainment lawyers.

A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Ltd., the ‘Innovention Series’ is a platform designed to bring both public and private interest owners together to deliberate on issues affecting the nation’s economy and development, with a view to charting agenda towards moving it forward.

Highlighting details of the event, Verdant Zeal’s Chief Operating Officer, Dipo Adesida, noted: “This year’s session seeks to highlight the evolving possibilities in the age of virtual realities, and proffer solutions to challenges bordering on revenue generation and finance for content curation, movie distribution, territorial content cross-cutting in the content creation industry, and Africa as a whole.”

He added: “It will focus on how this new consciousness will create opportunities for innovation and integration between content creators, content aggregators, film distributors, content entrepreneurship and development in Africa.

“African content is struggling to find an economic model that ensures sustainable growth, mainly because of the size and lack of organization of national markets, and due to the insufficient organisation of national and regional markets, an incentive policy and a sizeable offer of African content. The absence of appropriate public policies also hinders the potential of the development of African content.”
