The eighth edition of the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) has recognised individuals and organisations contributing to the country’s digital economy, with Stanley Nwabunwanne Ugwubujoh named Emerging Data Analyst Professional of the Year.
The awards ceremony, held in a hybrid format, brought together industry leaders, regulators and young professionals across Nigeria’s technology sector. Organisers said the event continues to highlight progress in areas such as financial inclusion, data use and collaboration across industries.
Ugwubujoh, a Data Analytics Manager at Truzact Technologies Limited in Abuja, has led analytics operations at the firm since January 2022. Within his first year in the role, he developed machine learning models for transaction anomaly detection, which reduced fraud-related losses by 22 per cent. He also introduced automated extract, transform and load (ETL) pipelines that reduced manual data processing time by 60 per cent.
His work includes managing a team of analysts and data engineers responsible for delivering business intelligence reports to senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis. These reports support decision-making across the organisation.
Before joining Truzact Technologies Limited, Ugwubujoh worked as Data Analytics and Systems Manager at DAAZ Agro between 2019 and 2020. In that role, he designed data systems for agricultural supply chains operating across several states. He also applied soil sensor data to guide farming decisions, which led to a 25 per cent increase in crop yield on average.

He further supported the development of digital credit scoring models used in partnerships with farmer finance programmes, helping to improve access to funding within the agricultural sector.
Ugwubujoh holds a degree in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and has received certifications from the International Institute of Business Analysis, the Institute of Analytics, and Blackmen in Tech. His technical skills include SQL, Python, Power BI and machine learning.
Speaking after receiving the award, he said, “This recognition reflects the work of teams committed to using data to solve problems and improve systems that people depend on.”
Organisers of the Nigeria Technology Awards said the platform remains focused on recognising work that supports national development. They noted that the awards continue to draw attention to efforts in youth engagement, data-driven governance and cross-sector partnerships.
They added that the 2022 edition reflects a growing shift towards solutions that place people at the centre of technology. According to them, “Each year, the awards highlight those setting standards for progress in Nigeria’s technology space.”
As the country continues to adopt digital systems across sectors, this year’s winners point to the role of data in shaping outcomes and improving services.
