The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has celebrated Samuel Oluolamide Adebanjo, an indigene of Isaara, Remo North, Ogun State, for graduating as the Best Graduating Student of Lagos State University (LASU), with an outstanding 4.97/5.00 CGPA in the 2025/2026 session.
In a Saturday signed by its National President, Ààrẹ Oluwafemi Àjàyí, NAOSS described the feat as historic and globally significant.
Daily Sun learnt that Adebanjo recorded the third-highest CGPA in the 43-year history of LASU.
He also emerged with the highest CGPA from the Faculty of Engineering and from the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
NAOSS said the achievement is particularly remarkable given the rigorous demands of Aerospace Engineering.
The student body said, “Adebanjo has demonstrated that Nigerian students possess the intellectual capacity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best anywhere in the world.
“His accomplishment is not just a personal victory; it is a powerful statement about the quality, potential and future of Nigerian youth.”

The association added that Adebanjo has given Ogun State “another reason to celebrate its culture of excellence and its tradition of producing exceptional minds.”
NAOSS called on the Ogun State Government, Federal Government, private sector and relevant institutions to recognize the rare talent and invest in his future through scholarships, employment opportunities, research funding, mentorshipand other forms of support.
“Ogun, the Gateway State, has continually served as a gateway to success, producing outstanding Nigerians across generations.
“Adebanjo is another shining evidence of what the Gateway can produce when talent meets opportunity,” Àjàyí stated.
The NAOSS President promised that the leadership would continue to celebrate and amplify exceptional Ogun State students wherever they distinguish themselves.
He urged Ogun State students across the nation to emulate Adebanjo’s “discipline, brilliance and commitment to excellence.”
“NAOSS National congratulates this remarkable son of Ogun State and calls on all stakeholders to celebrate him not merely with words, but with opportunities worthy of his achievement. Adebanjo has raised the bar; the Gateway has produced another global-worthy star,” the statement further reads.
