Turkish pundit Onur Özkan has warned that Trabzonspor could face a difficult task in managing the striking partnership of Paul Onuachu and Darwin Nunez, drawing comparisons with Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi at Galatasaray.
Onuachu, who joined the Turkish club last summer, enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring 22 goals and providing two assists in 30 league appearances as Trabzonspor secured European football.

However, the Nigerian international is expected to face increased competition for a starting spot, with the club reportedly close to completing the signing of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez.
Speaking to Sabah Spor, Özkan acknowledged that Onuachu can not be expected to shoulder the attacking responsibility throughout the season.
He stressed that finding the right balance and managing the playing time of both forwards would not be an easy task.
“Paul Onuachu can’t play the entire season by himself, that’s very clear,” Özkan said. “But setting up that rotation with Nunez isn’t an easy job at all.
He pointed to Galatasaray’s experience with Osimhen and Icardi as an example of how difficult it can be for a team to successfully manage two established strikers competing for regular playing time.
According to Özkan, Trabzonspor will need to find an effective rotation system to get the best out of both Onuachu and Nunez throughout the campaign.
“For example, Galatasaray had a really tough time using Osimhen and Icardi,” he added.
Ahead of the start of the campaign, Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke will be keen to find the right balance between Onuachu and Nunez and get the best out of both forwards.
