Transport icon Innochris dies at 71

Business mogul and devout Christian, Sir Innocent Chinedu Onuoha, executive chairman of InnoChris Group, has passed on.

The family, in a statement, said he died peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2025, in his Lagos home.

Also called Ogbuefi, a revered title in his community, Onuoha who was born in1954 attained a higher education.

An evangelist in the Anglican Communion, Onuoha hailed from Umuoma Umuaro 11 autonomous community, in Isiala Mbano of Imo State.

He worked as a former secretary to a former Chief Engineer, Flour Mills Nigeria Limited and had a rich experience before venturing into private investments. He was the Executive Chairman, Innochris Group, comprising Innochris transport, Innochris computers and Innochris spare parts, wholesale and retail.

A bridge builder and philanthropist, his roles in several outstanding development and infrastructure projects in his community remain unforgettable.

Through his scholarship scheme, many indigent persons went to school and got sound education. He similarly mentored many in apprenticeship, leading to their becoming business owners.

Onuoha made a remarkable impact on widows and the less privileged through his philanthropy, which he dispensed without discrimination, restoring hopes to dozens of beneficiaries across the country.

He is survived by wife, Lady Adline Onuoha, children, grandchildren and Siblings.

While arrangements for his final burial are ongoing, his family will announce the date in due course.
