President Bola Tinubu has called on state governors across Nigeria to replicate Lagos State’s model of modern infrastructure development, as he inaugurated a series of key projects aimed at improving connectivity and boosting economic activities.
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu commissioned the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographical Information System (LAGIS) Building, and the Lagos State Multi-Agency Building in Lagos.
The president said the projects set a standard that should be emulated nationwide, noting that strategic infrastructure investment remains critical to national development.
Among dignitaries at the event were Governors Dapo Abiodun, Douye Diri, Hope Uzodimma and Babagana Zulum, alongside lawmakers and party leaders.
Accompanied by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Akpabio arrived at the project site at about 1:25 p.m. and drove through the newly completed link bridge to symbolically declare it open.
Tinubu said the 5.04-kilometre Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge would significantly ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time within the Ikeja axis, and enhance productivity in the state.
He added that the Multi-Agency Building in Alausa would strengthen inter-agency collaboration and improve public service delivery, while the LAGIS facility would modernise land administration and geospatial data management.

The president will also inaugurate additional projects, including the Tolu Schools Complex, comprising 36 schools and a mini football pitch, 19 football pitches at Maracana in Ajegunle, and the Fresh Food Industrial Hub in Abijo, Ibeju-Lekki, on Wednesday.
He described the projects as “symbols of purpose”, reflecting a government committed to delivering tangible development.
According to him, a modern land administration system is essential for economic growth, as it enhances transparency, strengthens planning, and attracts investment.
“These projects align with our national vision of a modern, digitally enabled and economically strong Nigeria. This is the standard we must replicate across the country,” Tinubu said, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure investment, improved governance, and expanded opportunities for Nigerians.
Earlier, Sanwo-Olu praised Tinubu’s legacy in Lagos, noting that his administration laid the foundation for structured development in the state.
He said successive governments had continued to build on that vision, transforming Lagos into a more organised and economically viable megacity.
Sanwo-Olu also commended Tinubu’s ongoing support for federal infrastructure projects in Lagos, including developments around the coastal road, upgrades at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and improvements at the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports.
He expressed optimism that more projects would be inaugurated in the coming months as part of efforts to further enhance infrastructure and living standards in the state.
