Golf legend Tiger Woods revealed that he was looking at his phone while changing radio channels before his car crashed last Friday, according to a police report.
Woods, who is a 15-time major champion, was apprehended after his SUV clipped a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck on Jupiter Island, Florida, not far from his residence.
The SUV ended up rolling onto its side, and Woods had to exit from the passenger’s side door. Fortunately, neither the sportsman nor the truck driver sustained injuries.
An accident report released on Tuesday sheds light on the circumstances leading to the crash, with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office stating that Woods admitted to “looking down at his cell phone and changing the radio station and did not notice the vehicle in front of him had slowed down.”
The sheriff’s deputies disclosed in the report that Woods was seen “sweating profusely”, describing his movements as “lethargic and slow,” while noting that his eyes were “bloodshot and glassy”.
