A staff and photojournalist of The Sun Publishing Limited, Temitope Aina, has won the 10th edition of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Media Personality of the Year Award.

Aina beat five  others to emerge winner in the Photo Journalists News category.

Applauding journalists at the gathering for their patronage, MAN President, Francise Meshioye, said this year’s edition of the award is a significant milestone in the calendar of MAN events that has continued to serve its noble purpose.

Meshioye said the journalists’ pens have  greatly contributed to transforming the association’s slogans into a national imperative and accelerating the persuasion of the government to listen.

“A decade ago, this initiative was conceived to strengthen collaboration between the media and the association, while creating a platform to celebrate impactful journalism.

“For over five decades, the media has remained one of our strongest partners. You have been a driving force in the attainment of our goals; amplifying our advocacy, interrogating our policies, challenging our assumptions, and giving visibility to the realities of Nigerian manufacturers.

“Through your reportage, our positions on industrial policy, manufacturing competitiveness, energy security, local content development and the macroeconomics environment in general have remained firmly on the national agenda. For this, we remain deeply grateful.”
