Archbishop Emeka Agwu, was honoured with The Sun Humanitarian Service Icon of The Year Award 2023 because of his social welfare infrastructure as the President of Voice of Evangelism International, Houston, USA. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated the award to God, his wife, and children and those who have been working with him in the ministry. He also thanked The Sun Publishing Limited for the award.
