Nigerian-USA based charismatic preacher, Archbishop Emeka Agwu is a rare breed evangelist whom many have described as God’s gift to his generation.
This is not surprising especially to those who have encountered and enjoyed his benevolence in the mission field as Dr. Agwu who is also the President/Chief Apostle of Voice of Evangelism International, Houston, USA, has through his God-given grace impacted the global community, using the instrumentality of his office to establish a social welfare infrastructure.
A leadership trainer and economic empowerment advocate, Dr. Agwu is today ranked among the biggest preachers not only in the United States of America, but also across the world, where he championing the spread of the Gospel of salvation and advocacy for better life to people of diverse nationalities and religious backgrounds.
His message of hope to the weary which he perfectly combines with social welfares has brought relief to millions of troubled souls confronted with social maladies like depression, addiction and poverty across the world.
Over the past two decades of his blossoming global outreach, Dr. Agwu has used the gospel to mentor and heal troubled souls as signs and wonders continued to follow his ministry.
Born on June 2, 1971 to a devoted Christian family in Ohafia in the present day Abia State, he had very early in life devoted himself to faith based activities and supported it with youth empowerment.
Before moving to the USA where he now superintends over one of the largest congregations in the State of Texas, he had served as the General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Enugu.
He was later to be appointed to lead the African Youth Ministry before emerging also as the Eastern Coordinator of “Faith Comes by Hearing” Movement.
A missionary pastor per excellence at large with LINC Houston as well as its African coordinator, the fiery preacher also sits on the board of several corporate entities in the United States of Africa and other parts of the world.
But despite his busy schedule as the President of Voice of Global Foundation, USA, and in line with his commitment to make a difference in his generation, he still remained passionate about youth empowerment as evidenced in his Catch Them Young for Christ and Champion the Hope for the African Child movement.
Married to Dr. Chizoba Mercy Agwu, they are blessed with six children.
It is on the basis of his contributions to humanity, mission and community development that the board of Editors of The Sun Publishing Limited nominated him as winner of The Sun Humanitarian Icon Award for 2023.
