For the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock and Convener, The Experience, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the all-night gospel music event has evolved beyond a concert, it has become a global spiritual movement carrying the integrity of God and the destiny of Africa.
Speaking before international worship leaders, ministers and the press, Adefarasin said that two decades of miraculous testimonies have shown that “when people gather with the true intent to encounter God, heaven responds.”
He recalled defining moments – including the rain-drenched 2008 edition that became a turning point – saying the journey proves that “God takes what the enemy intends for evil and makes it work for His glory.”
Adefarasin added: “This is no longer an event; it is a movement… a preview of a new Africa, a new Nigeria. Many here will live to see the foundations of that future.”
This year’s theme, ‘Jesus United’ centered on the call for unity without erasing cultural diversity. Speakers emphasised that Africa is poised to shape a global spiritual renaissance. To American worship leader, Travis Greene, the sonic collaboration emerging from the event is “a demonstration of commanded blessing… the world is shifting.”
Other global clergy including delegates from Return Ministries called the gathering a prophetic catalyst, with one describing it as “an Ephesians 3:10 moment that will echo across nations and spiritual realms.”

According to the organisers, however, the widening diversity of voices shows the movement is expanding beyond Nigeria into a worldwide hub of worship, culture and spiritual influence.
As night fell, the Tafawa Balewa Square venue of the 20th edition of the concert braced for hundreds of thousands of worshippers, with millions participating across the globe through live streaming.
Top international artistes that headlined the show were Israel Houghton, Travis Greene, Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore, and Jamaica’s Chevelle Franklyn.
Nigeria’s gospel music stars that performed included Sinach, Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan, Moses Bliss, Frank Edwards, Onos Ariyo, Muyiwa Olarewaju, Bidemi Olaoba, Adeyinka Alaseyori, Mike Aremu, Beejay Sax, and Mr. M & Revelation. Afro-fusion act, Gaise Baba made a special debut appearance.
Reacting to the US President Trump’s recent designation of Nigeria as a ‘country of particular concern’, Adefarasin said God can use negative narratives for national transformation, adding that crime must be confronted decisively.
“Nobody should be above the law. Crime should be prosecuted as crime,” he declared.
