A nonprofit organisation, Aitah’s Golden Arrow has gone beyond awarding financial aid to students who came tops in the quiz competition to introducing a valuable initiative that will contribute to elevating the educational experience of students and teachers in the educational sector.
The annual quiz competition made room for financial aid for teachers to develop themselves and for schools to meet any pending educational needs that will make the learning environment conducive and safe for students to learn.
As an organisation with passion and vision in education, it reinforces that education is not just a means to acquire knowledge but the key to unlocking true potential to building a better future for ourselves and our communities, and urges teachers not to be discouraged in the face of these many challenges rather, we must find ways to overcome them.
Aitah’s Golden Arrow through its quiz competition created a learning platform where teachers can interact, collaborate, receive feedback, rewarded for their contribution to education and reflect on their teaching practices while exposing themselves to healthy educational competitions. The financial supports are for teachers to pursue advanced degrees, certifications or targeted courses in their names to enhance their knowledge and expertise in specific areas or teaching methodologies.
Kanayo Nomeh, a representative of Aitah’s Golden Arrow, said the outcome of the competition reflects on the overall education in and outside the classroom and there is a need to develop new teaching techniques, incorporate new technologies, innovative learning and personal development for teachers, adding that this action will provide teachers the on-demand skill to provide the best possible education for their students and also have clear ideas on the best ways to relate with their students.
The grand finale of the quiz competition saw Bayflowers International School, Divine Wisdom International School and University Preparatory Secondary School in science category while Rosie Marie International School, Lydia Group of School and Divine Providence Educational Centre coming tops in arts category to win N2 million, N1.5 million and N1 million respectively.
Aitah’s Golden Arrow Quiz Competition is an instrument for students to know that they can compete in bigger competitions anywhere and win with scholarships and grants.
