TAJBank Limited, one of Nigeria’s non-interest banks, recorded a 74 per cent to N31.562 billion year-on-year increase in profit before tax (PBT) in the 2025 financial year from N18.160 billion recorded in FY2024, as the lender continued to strengthen its position in the ethical banking sector.

The bank’s audited 2025 financial statements showed that total assets rose to N1.34 trillion from N953 billion in 2024.

Total equity also increased significantly to N149.23 billion, representing a 144 per cent growth from N61.25 billion recorded in the previous year.

In recognition of the bank’s performance, its Board approved a dividend of 20 kobo per share for shareholders at its 2026 virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Speaking on the dividend approval, TAJBank’s Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna, said the payment was part of the bank’s efforts to reward shareholders for their support.

“The Board rewarded the shareholders for their contributions to the growth of TAJBank as we have been doing over the years,” Gwamna said.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Hamid Joda, attributed the improved financial performance to the management’s prudent approach to running the bank.

He said the performance was “a clear demonstration of the management’s adoption of prudential financial approach in our operations” and was helping to strengthen investor confidence.

Joda assured shareholders that their funds remained secure and would continue to generate sustainable returns.

“I am using this opportunity to thank the shareholders and to assure them that come rain or shine, their funds are secured and will continue to yield sustainable good returns to them on a yearly basis,” he said.

The bank’s Executive Director, Sheriff Idi, said TAJBank would continue to prioritise the interests of its shareholders and customers.

“We greatly value our shareholders and customers because their interest is why we are in business and we will always prioritize them in our operations,” Idi said.

After five years of operations in Nigeria’s non-interest banking sector, TAJBank was recently recognised by regulators as the largest player in the subsector based on its approved half-year 2025 financial statements, measured by total assets and gross earnings.

The bank has also received several industry recognitions, including BusinessDay awards in 2021, 2022 and 2023, as well as the Leadership Newspapers’ 2020 Bank of the Year award.

TAJBank has also obtained international certifications for its compliance with global standards, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and ISO certifications covering information security, business continuity and IT service management.
