The Director of Studies (DOS), Starfield College, Fagba, Lagos, Mr. Christ Eigbe has recalled how the management overcame distractors, whose several attempts to scuttled the take-off and growth of the school failed.

The director also disclosed that the college Alumni scattered all over the world are doing well in their different careers, adding, “our brand has gone global.”

In his testimony during the 25th anniversary thanksgiving service of the college, Mr. Eigbe said the spirit of God guided the college at such moment of challenges in the early stage of Starfield College.

His words:  “The Journey has not always been a straight-line journey; there have been moments of stress and anxiety, doubt, frustration.  The spirit of God has always been guiding us at such moment of challenges.

“When people carried sacrifices with the intention of destroying us, God has always been intervening and defending us.  He has multiplied our well-wishers but fell those, who wish us bad. He has always directed them to aimless paths.

“His hand of blessings fell on the school right from inception, when there is need to get funds to build the school, God provided divine helper for us.  When we have to get registration from both state and WAEC, our distractors did their best to frustrate us but God created favour for us and ensured that our project did not die. That project we are here today to celebrate.”

Eigbe informed the gathering that students of the college made 9As, 8As, and 7As over a long period of time in the May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

He further disclosed that the college students recorded high scores in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The educationist revealed that the college Alumni are doing well while those employed are admired and favoured.

He acknowledged the contributions of teachers to the successful story of the college, while commending parents for their supports and believing in the school.

A parent, Mrs. Olusola Titcombe, whose five children passed through the college, showered encomium on the DOS, the administrative head of the school, principal and teachers for their impact in the life of the students.

Another parents, Mrs. Itoro Effiong Bright praised the school management and teachers for turning her son and other children to better pupils.
