The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has formally launched its Cross River State Secretariat in Calabar, declaring that the structure will be used to mobilise voters and deliver the state for the party’s presidential ticket of Mr Peter Obi and Sen Rabiu Kwankwaso in 2027, as well as candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
State Coordinator, Egwu Arong, said the secretariat is not “merely a building” but a working hub for organisation, coordination and grassroots mobilisation across the 18 local government areas, wards and polling units of the state.
“This secretariat exists to organize the people behind you, to support your campaigns with structure, discipline and grassroots mobilization with strength,” Arong said at the inauguration.
He said the Movement would stand on three pillars: structure, mobilisation and character, adding that “the movement is a statewide family.”
Arong charged members to mobilise voters and keep the message clean and lawful.

“Let us stand firmly with our candidates. The task before us is national, but the work begins here — in Cross River State,” he added.
National Convener of the Movement, Jackie Wayas, said the opening of the secretariat marked a new beginning for the state and that the Movement did not take the love shown to it for granted.
State Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Goddie Akpama, pledged support for the Movement, saying they would work together to vote out bad governance at the state and national levels.
Also speaking, Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party, Bishop Stella Archibong, said it was time to change the narrative and that “together, change is possible.”
Cletus Amawu, Zonal Publicity Secretary of the OK Movement, said they would ensure that they not only voted massively but that their votes would also count.
