Two weeks after the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In an official statement issued to party members and supporters on August 29 to mark the 35th anniversary of Osun State’s creation, Oyebamiji extended his congratulations “in the spirit of democracy.”
He urged the governor, as Chief Security Officer of the state, to take full responsibility for safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens during this sensitive post-election period.
Addressing the party’s next steps, Oyebamiji stated that following INEC’s declaration, the APC engaged in extensive consultations with elders and key stakeholders.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the rule of law, assuring loyalists that the APC would continue to pursue justice and electoral fairness through constitutional means.

He urged supporters to remain steadfast, keep faith in democratic institutions, and turn their focus towards mobilising for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in upcoming polls.
Oyebamiji also commended President Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for their leadership, noting that their efforts have repositioned and strengthened the APC in Osun State.
However, the APC candidate expressed deep displeasure over the recent surge in post-election violence. He condemned the killings of Hon. Remi Abass (former Chairman of Irewole Local Government Area), Chief Gbenga Ogbara (APC Chairman in Atakumosa Local Government Area), Mr Dele Ayegbo (nephew of campaign director-general Hon. Wole Oke), and more than 35 other victims.
Oyebamiji called on the Nigeria Police Force to launch a thorough investigation into the killings and bring the perpetrators to justice, while offering his deepest condolences and continued support to the bereaved families.
