Spanish LaLiga team, Real Valladolid is set to snap up Super Eagles attacking midfielder, Josh Maja in the summer transfer window.
Maja, 24, whose contract at French Ligue 2 club Girondins de Bordeaux expires at the end of the season, possesses a contract offer from Real Valladolid, according to Foot Mercato.
Maja, who has had loan spells at Stoke City and at Fulham, will seemingly have plenty of options this summer. Maja is Bordeaux’s top scorer in all competitions this season, with 14 goals in 34 games. Whilst his form could potentially allow Les Girondins to bounce back from last year’s relegation, his future may not lie at the French club.
Foot Mercato reported that Ligue 1 and English sides are already displaying an interest in Maja, who would be available for free come the summer.
Meanwhile, La Liga side Real Valladolid, who is fighting for survival in Spain’s top-flight, has made the player an offer.
However, Maja’s future will likely be determined by the outcome of Bordeaux’s season. The club is currently second in Ligue 2, one point ahead of FC Metz, which would be enough to see David Guion’s side promoted.
Should Bordeaux maintain its second place and move back up into Ligue 1, Maja would trigger an automatic extension. The Nigerian international’s club future, therefore, doesn’t look set to be resolved any time soon.
