The Defence Headquarters said soldiers on internal security operations in the Niger Delta region have killed five pirates and militants terrorizing people of the area with their activities.
The soldiers from Operation Delta Safe were also said to have sunk three attack boats belonging to the militants and seized several arms and ammunition from them in a shoot out.
