Six killed, three injured in Jos auto crash

No fewer than six persons have been confirmed dead and three injured  when a trailer loaded with grain lost control at Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Road, Faringada, in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident reportedly occurred around 8:00p.m on Thursday.

Daily Sun gathered that the trailer crashed into three vehicles and four tricycles, killing three occupants and three pedestrians while several others sustained injuries.

The vehicle was said to have been coming from Saminaka village in Kaduna State, heading to Onitsha, in Anambra State, for supply of maize and other grains.

It was also gathered that the driver who tried to get hold of the vehicle used several keke Napep to slow itself  but to no avail and finally crash at the Faringada Round about.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of Plateau State Police Command, (ASP) Tyopev Marthias Terna said three persons died instantly when the trailer crash into vehicles and tricycles.

He noted that the Driver of the vehicle who gave his name as Fatai was arrested and investigation revealed that he was under the influence of Alcohol which led to reckless driving.

Terna added that the injured persons are currently receiving medical treatment at Bingham University Teaching Hospital Jos.
