Sit-at-home: IPOB tackles Umahi, Obiano
…Says there’s no going back on Biafra restoration
Jeff Amechi Agbodo, Onitsha
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has berated Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Willie Obiano of Anambra State for trying to stand on their way during its May 30 sit-at-home order.
The pro-Biafra group, however, commended seven governors in the South-east and South-south for not coming out to attack its members like their two counterparts did as they observed the sit-at-home order across the states in the regions.
The Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, who made this known in a statement issued at the weekend said: “We appreciate the fact that some governors such as Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Rochas Okorocha, Nyesom Wike, Ifeanyi Okowa, Seriake Dickson, Udom Emmanuel and Ben Ayade did not belittle their offices by coming out to act as attack dogs for Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) as Umahi and Obiano did”.
Powerful, who thanked “the people of Biafra” for the successful sit-at-home order, said that it was declared to honour the fallen heroes of the civil war and those who died in the cause of the struggle for the restoration of a Biafra state.
Expressing the group’s gratitude to all ‘Biafrans,’ he said that “this year’s event had resounding success across Biafraland and all over the world despite all odds and machinations of the enemy.”
He said that the success of the order would “go down in the annals of history as a confirmation that IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was exceptionally indefatigable and the dominant force across the entire East not just in Igboland.”
Powerful said that the order was a confirmation that the vast majority of the people were with IPOB and remained committed to its collective pursuit for self-determination for all.
“So, as Asaba, Owerri, Enugu, Igweocha, Aba, Onitsha, and all Biafraland sat at home this 30th May 2018, we are emboldened that, like in South Africa and Kenya, it is only a matter of time before IPOB prevail and lead our people to freedom. It is a duty we owe to the dead, ourselves and posterity.
“But like Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu once said ‘Biafra is of the mind’, so no one can kill or suppress it. How could anyone ever believe that it is possible to prevent us from remembering and honouring our dead, our maimed, our persecuted?
“These were the very first words that, in 1967, brought into being that great nation of Biafra, inspired by the indomitable will of a people to resist evil, to resist genocide, and in defense of liberty. It was an epoch in the lives of Biafrans of that generation and like no other place in history, they stood shoulder to shoulder to defend their lives, their land and their freedom. Many paid the supreme sacrifice. So, it lies within our rights and conscience to never forget.
“Decades after that dark episode in our history, the same evil has again reared its head – maiming, killing and persecuting many Biafrans since 2015. So, it is with a solemn commitment to the memory of our fallen heroes; to freedom and self-determination, that we Indigenous People of Biafra ordered this year’s ‘sit-at-home’ in keeping with the edict handed to us by our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He charged us to always remember the 30th of May each year and to keep it holy by sitting at home in perpetual remembrance of all that fought and died for us.
“It is pertinent to note that great nationalist struggles throughout human history suffered one setback or the other. So, just as in our own case, we are very much aware of all the attempts from within and without to break the will of our people.”
If sit-at-home for hundred years, nothing will happen. Ojukwu went to as far as Aburi, nothing happened. The successful establishment of the Liberation Foundation was only possible with the Sword under “unavoidable necessity” as Ojukwu rightly emphasized in 1967-1970 bloody engagement. The Liberation Foundation is like foundation of a house, the only obligation we the present generation owe the fallen heroes and the living heroes of the 1967-1970 bloody engagement, is completion of the house which they successfully established its foundation in 1967-1970 bloody engagement, completion which can never be possible with sit-at-home, can never be possible without the Sword- the foundation establishment was only possible with the Sword in 1967-1970 bloody engagement, the completion with every evidence, is only possible with the Sword in this final conquest of the Liberation Revolutionary warfare of the natives under the natives Disintegrated Republics- Biafra Republic of south east, Niger Delta Republic of south south, Oduduwa Republics of south west, North East Republic, North West Republic, North Central Republic, God is the fulfillment. The final conquest began May 30. 2018 to finish in Sokoto. God given Victory is the natives’. Only the Sword decides. God Is With Us!!!
Freedom comes through war or civil disobedience and you don’t fight war with mouth every thing has time for it you don’t make the Same mistake of the past we most make sure the whole world hear us loud and clear before we take the last option nnamdi KANU and ipob is on track. So Ezekiel okeke if you feel ipob is not getting right start your own struggle and get us Biafra all we want is Biafra
Kanu is nowhere to be found because of the same ideology of ignorance and illiteracy of going to war without the Sword. Biafra Republic of south east is war only with the Sword, so do the Liberation till Sokoto under the natives Disintegrated Republics is only with the Sword in this final conquest- any who do not have the Sword in it will go down with the Sword in it: Only the Sword decides. God Is With Us!!!
I must appreciate the efforts of IPOB to keep the memory of those that died for us to be alive today alive.God will bless them.I really do not know what is the problem Gov.Obiano and Umahi, they are both second Term Governors, are they saying Ndigbo should not remember over 5m people massacred or what?
Yoruba race still June 12 1993 annulment and no Governor challenge them,in fact some give public Holidays.I wonder what Ojukwu will say about these two cowardlt Governors if he is still alive.
Remembrance, candlelight procession or solitary sit at home to pray for these martyrs are allowed in a democarcy. The Army and Police behave as if they are the army or police of Buhari.
@Mike, where’s the Nnamdi Kanu? What is the said mistake of the past? If you know what war is, can you tell instruments of war? To tell who’s playing which role in the ongoing Revolution War of the natives under the natives Disintegrated Republics- Biafra Republic of south east, Niger Delta Republic of south south, Oduduwa Republics of south west, North East Republic, North West Republic, North Central Republic, as regards Biafra Republic of south east of your question and concern only?
Umeahi and Obiano were a disappointment in their comments and stance. It they had no better thing to say the best would have been to keep quite and allow the people to decide whether to obey the call or not. Now that the call was obeyed, would they hide their faces in shame or still go ahead with their threat? What do they really want the group to do in order to express itself. When they carried arms, they were killed. Now they have dropped arms and are using the word of mouth yet even their own would not want them be.
The best way to tackle the agitation of any people is not to pretend that nothing is wrong. Remember this agitation has lasted about 50 yrs yet the momentum has not gone done. Instead young people are giving it more force. The time to discuss Biafra is now. Delay may be dangerous. God bless Nigeria. God bless Biafra, God bless Oduduwa, God bless ………
