Nigerian singer Sean Tizzle is scheduled to perform at the opening of Club 609, a new entertainment venue in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on July 31.
The venue is owned by Nigerian artiste Maradin, who said the project is aimed at creating an additional space for music performances and nightlife activities in the city.
Speaking on the development, Maradin said he chose Ijebu-Ode because of its growing entertainment scene and the opportunities he believes exist outside Lagos.
“There are young people, professionals and visitors who want quality entertainment experiences, but the conversation is often concentrated around Lagos,” he said. “I think there is value in building creative infrastructure in other cities and allowing those places to develop their own entertainment identity.”
According to him, the venue is expected to host music performances and provide opportunities for DJs and emerging artistes to showcase their talent.
“For me, this is not separate from music,” Maradin said. “It is another part of the same conversation. The goal is to create a space where music, people and culture can meet naturally.”

He also noted that the project reflects a growing trend of musicians investing in businesses beyond music production and live performances.
Club 609 is expected to open to the public on July 31, with Sean Tizzle billed as the headline performer at the launch event.
