Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani has condemned “systemic mass execution” of civilians in Sudan shown in viral videos circulating on social media.
The killings were reportedly orchestrated by fighters from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has engaged in a brutal war with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) for two years.
The BBC quoted UN’s Sudan coordinator, Denise Brown as confirming the RSF’s execution of a number of unarmed people after capturing the Sudanese city of el-Fasher.
No fewer than 150,000 people have died across the country with 12 million others displaced since the war broke out in 2023.
Sani said, “The video clip of the systemic mass execution of innocent civilians going on in the Sudan allegedly by the Sudanese Rebels and the Army is a tragedy for Africa and the World.
“Foreign governments are funding both sides and the citizens are wasted in large numbers on a daily basis.
“The most unfortunate part is that AU and the African leaders behaves helpless and hopeless.”
