The senator representing Abia North at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Dr.Orji Uzor Kalu, has condemned police invasion of an online Radio/TV Studio in the Abia state capital, Umuahia.

This is even as the former Governor has mourned the death of two traditional rulers in Abia North, Prof. E.U.L Imaga, the Udumaeze of Ohafia and Chairman Ohafia Council of Nde Ezie Ogo and Eze Linus Okafor of Uturu, in Isuikwuato Local Government Area.

Senator Kalu, together with former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, and the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State, in the House of Representatives, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa in condemning the invasion, said the policemen went over board.

They said the action of the cops who stormed the studio during a live programme and arrested a guest, was invasion of privacy and violation of rights.

Meanwhile, Senator Kalu has condoled with the people of Ohafia Udumaeze, on the passing of their traditional ruler, Prof. E.U.L Imaga, the Udumaeze of Ohafia and Chairman Ohafia Council of Nde Ezie Ogo.

Kalu, in a message signed by his media aide, Sunny Idika said the death of the traditional ruler was a painful loss, describing the late Ezie Ogo as peace-loving and cerebral leader.

“The Udumaeze was in a class of his own. He was highly respected and admired for his deep insights, wisdom, and sophistication. He had a masterful way of handling issues. He was very knowledgeable and wise.

“May Almighty God grant the family of His Royal Paramountcy the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Senator Kalu prayed.

He urged the people of Ohafia to take solace in the legacy of peace and fellowship left behind by the late traditional ruler.

In a related development, the former Governor Kalu has commiserated with the family of Eze Linus Okafor, the Ata 1 of Uturu, over the death of the traditional ruler.

Kalu equally condoled with the people of Okamba and Uturu in general over the death of the traditional ruler of Umuratta Autonomous community in Uturu.

He noted that the late traditional ruler served his people with humility and wisdom.

“On behalf of the people of Abia North Senatorial District, I wish to express my condolences to the good people of Okamba and Uturu in general over the death of their traditional ruler, HRH Eze Linus Okafor, the Ata 1 of Uturu.

“HRH Eze Okafor was a humble man who served his people with love and wisdom.”

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Privatisation, prayed God to grant the immediate family and the good people of Okamba the fortitude to bear the loss.
