The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment and Productivity, Senator Diket Satso Plang, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident that claimed the lives of seven students of the University of Jos and left three others injured in Plateau State.
In a condolence statement, Senator Plang described the incident as a painful blow to the state and the nation, stressing that the loss of young, vibrant students represents a setback to Nigeria’s future.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked God to grant strength and comfort to their families as they endure the irreplaceable loss.
Senator Plang emphasized that the accident, which involved the president of the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS), has left a deep scar on the university community and the state at large. He urged stakeholders to rally around the bereaved families and provide them with the necessary support during this difficult period.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of young Nigerians, noting that their safety, education, and well-being must remain a priority for leaders at all levels.
