Senator Stella Oduah has commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for putting into motion her pledge to support the cause of Nigerian women through the launch of the “No Woman No Nation”, renewed hope, a women empowerment initiative.

President Tinubu who inaugurated the initiative on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Government House, Makurdi, received the pat on back in a statement from the Abuja Media office of her former colleague at the 9th Senate on Saturday.

Stella, in her message to her 9th Senate colleague, praised Mrs Tinubu for the launch of her latest women development programme, noting that they are in line with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda of empowering women across the country.

Recall that Remi Tinubu inaugurated the Benue state chapter of “No Woman No Nation”, renewed hope, a Benue state women empowerment initiative.

The first lady who inaugurated the initiative on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Government House, Makurdi, explained that No Woman No Nation forum is the women wings of National Coalition of all support for Bat Shettima mandate for all women across the Nigeria; from national to state level including the 774 LGs and wards, to empower women and promote the good work of her office for better Nigeria.

She said it is an NGO under renewed hope initiatives for better Nigeria and is committed to advancing gender equality, empowering women across states to support widows, end gender-based violence and empower women economically.

Accordingly, Stella Oduah congratulated Mrs Tinubu saying that the initiative would improve the economic and social fortunes of Women in the country in addition to bridging the women disenfranchisement in Politics.

Stella lauded the first lady” The zeal of our first lady to uplift women of poverty can not be underestimated, the launch of her initiative underscores the importance of empowering our womenfolk as an integral part of this administration’s economic policies.

“It is hoped that this programme will priotise the poor and vulnerable. I commend Remi Tinubu for her commitment to lift our women out of poverty and enhance their participation in the economy”.

Earlier in the event Mrs Tinubu who was represented by the National Chairman of “No Woman No Nation” Amb. Akintola Oluwasayo, said the No woman No nation forum will lift 6000 out of poverty immediately after the inauguration in Benue state at the first stage.

The first lady noted that the vision of the initiative is to have a new Nigeria where the community will be crime free, corruption free and where information will be useful for Humanitarian growth and solicited the support of the state Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, for a secretariat and vocational center in the state.
