A 200 level student of the Department of Arts Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Mr. Olaitan Bolaji Samsudeen, has reportedly drown in a hotel’s swimming pool.
Daily Sun gathered that the incident happened at the Bekadims Hotel’s swimming pool, Oke Odo, Tanke, located close to the entrance of the university, on Sunday.
It was also gathered that the deceased had gone with friends to partake in recreational activities when he reportedly drowned.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the report, said investigation had commenced on the tragedy.
The police spokesperson also said the management of the hotel would be invited to find out what safety measures were in place in the facility, among other events that led to the incident.
