The Edo State Commissioner of Works, Felix Akhabue, has assured residents of the state of completions of ongoing road projects across the state at stipulated time.

He gave the assurance when he visited the various ongoing road projects within the Edo South senatorial district.

According to Akhabue, visiting the various sites became necessary to ascertain the pace and level of work done. He added that the work is going on as planned and that residents will soon heave a sigh of relief.

“I’m sure you are happy with me for the past hours and we have been moving from project to project. I’m sure this is the sixth of the projects, where we are now and from here, we are still going to cover about two others.

“We are still going to Palace Road from here. So we want to see the extent of work. And you are seeing the extent of work and you are able to have the opportunity to talk to the contractors. I’m here as Commissioner for Works in this state too,” Akhabue said.

Also speaking, the contractor handling the flyover project at the Benin-Sapele Road axis of the state, Lorenzin Maurizio, assured residents that the project will be completed within the 24-month timeframe, potentially even sooner.

He said the current work progress at the site is 20 percent.

A resident of Okhunmwun in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state, Lucky Ehigiator, commended the state government for coming to their rescue by constructing the road, which he said would boost economic activities in the area.
