Rivers United technical adviser, Stanley Eguma has described Sunday’s match with Rangers International as good advertisement for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Speaking after the game, which his side won 2-0, Eguma said: “It was a very interesting match, both teams gave a good account of themselves. This is another big image (advertisement) for the NPFL.
“The game had a lot of quality, you see the pace of the two teams, the skills and technical input was very impressive. We had the better chances and took it. Rangers played well but we had the upper hand,” he submitted.
However, Alex Oyowah was the star performer as Rivers United moved up two places on the NPFL log at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday evening.
Before kick-off, there were questions of Eguma’s side. The team bounced back to winning ways after the exploits on the continent but could they beat the current leaders on the log?
