Assistant Inspector- General(AIG) of Police, Zone 10 of the Nigeria Police Force, comprising of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states,Mr Gyogon Grimah has asked Nigerians to pray for the safety of policemen who were invited for a rescue mission .
Grimah stated this while addressing stakeholders on his familiarization visit to the police command headquarters, Birnin Kebbi.
The AIG, who sought the understanding of citizens to bring new initiative to achieve safer society for all, noted that the nation would be better off if all Nigerians realized that the Police are genuine friends of the people.
According to him,”Whether we like it on not, police are your friends. And this friendship should not be from your lips ,let it be an in-depth. The man you invited to come over to clear a barricade,he is somebody’s son, somebody’s husband, somebody’s uncle, and that somebody could be you.
“Are you inviting him without a lovely heart as somebody who is ready to service you.
“I want to say that bringing out new initiative in doing the usual things could give us new results. If I may ask you, among us here, how many of us usually pray for those police officers Invited to come over to rescue a situation and when they were on mission,we turn to God and pray for their safe returns?
“How many of us do pray for them? That is the new initiative I want us to introduce”, he said.
