Many voters in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps turned out to vote two hours after the start of the governorship and state legislative polls in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Thousands of women were seen voting at the Mohammed Goni College of Legal and Islamic Studies (MOGOLIS) polling centre for IDPs from Abadam Local Government.

An Assistant Presiding Officer, Kachalla Audu told our correspondent that there are 93 polling units in the camp with over 10 wards.

He said there were a total of 45,707 registered voters in the local government, but about 6,000 persons voted in the last presidential election.
