Two suspected cultists have been arrested by the Bayelsa State Police Command following the death of another suspected cultist in the university town of Amassoma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
According to investigations, Ebube Jonathan, a 200-level student of Management Science at Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, and a suspected member of the Neo-Black Movement, was attacked by some unidentified assailants along Kabaka Street, Amassoma.
Ebube was said to have been shot and macheted and was later confirmed dead from the injuries sustained by a medical doctor.
The murder of Ebube prompted the police to swing into action with a special operation, which led to the arrest of Godwin Abobu, a 300-level student of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, NDU, aged 24, and Tarilaefa Fesingha, aged 21.
The two suspects, believed to be members of the Neo-Black Movement, were picked up at Ending Pele Street, Amassoma, while they were mobilising to avenge the death of Ebube.

Upon arrest, the police recovered two locally made pistols, ammunition and drugs from the suspects.
The Bayelsa State Police Command, in a statement by DSP Musa Mohammed, reiterated the commitment of the command to tackle cultism and other violent crimes in the state.
The command warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face the full wrath of the law.
The command implored members of the public to provide credible and timely information to support the ongoing effort to rid Bayelsa State of criminality.
