The Special Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Security, Brigadier Shi’pi Gakji (retd), has paid a condolence visit to Dorowa-Jong community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, where three herders were allegedly killed by gunmen.
The three herders were reportedly ambushed on their way home in Jong after attending a Qur’anic Tafsir in Dorowa community on Thursday night.
The special adviser, while commiserating with the community, described the murder as dastardly and called on residents to find solace in their faith.
Speaking at the funeral of the deceased, Gakji emphasised that the government had frowned at the incident, assuring that it would leave no stone unturned in identifying the perpetrators of the dastardly attack.

“When the governor received the news of the attack, he asked me to come here to console the families of the deceased.
“The governor was not happy about the incident and asked residents to remain calm, as he would not allow these kinds of criminal activities to continue.
“We know it is painful to lose someone. Whoever loses a family member must feel the pain. We should be patient. As a government, we will do our best to deal with the situation. If criminals are not punished, they will continue to perpetrate violence,” he said.
The special adviser expressed surprise at the incident at a time when the state has experienced peaceful coexistence.
