There seems to be no end to the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction has asked that members of the party reserve the right to join other parties.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Makarfi’s faction, Dayo Adeyeye says: “We, however, acknowledge and recognise the right of party members to seek alternative platform to actualise their political dreams, which is an inalienable right guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The spokesman noted that the faction was holding “leadership power in the party in trust for the millions of party” members, who instituted the Caretaker Committee years back.
