Payments Forum Nigeria (PAFON), a leading platform for digital finance stakeholders, has announced the third edition of its flagship event, PAFON 3.0, aimed at shaping the future of digital commerce and artificial intelligence (AI) in the country.
The high-level forum is scheduled to hold on April 24, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, and is expected to convene over 600 industry professionals, including key players in banking, fintech, telecommunications, and regulation.
Organisers said the event will feature more than 20 expert speakers and serve as a strategic platform for collaboration on emerging trends in digital payments, cybersecurity, and AI-driven financial services.
As Nigeria continues to position itself as a leader in digital payment innovation across Africa, this year’s edition will focus on building a sustainable and inclusive financial ecosystem.
A major highlight of the forum will be a session themed “Fair Digital Payments as a Catalyst for Deepening Financial Inclusion in Nigeria,” which will explore how technology can expand access to financial services for millions of Nigerians.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Co-Convener of PAFON and Chairman of the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters’ Association (NITRA), Chike Onwuegbuchi, described the forum as a critical driver of policy and industry dialogue.

We are bringing together regulators such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), alongside infrastructure providers, to ensure a fair, accessible, and technology-driven payment ecosystem,” he said.
He added that the forum aims to promote a consumer-focused approach that empowers micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as everyday users.
The event will feature thought leadership panel sessions addressing trends in AI, digital commerce, and the evolving regulatory environment. It will also provide opportunities for engagement with key regulators, exhibitions of innovative financial solutions, and business-to-business networking among stakeholders.
Participants will have access to product demonstrations, including digital wallets and advanced point-of-sale (POS) solutions, as well as opportunities to form strategic partnerships across the financial services value chain.
PAFON 3.0 is powered by TechCastle Foundation and supported by Techeconomy.
Registration for the event is currently open to stakeholders, technology enthusiasts, and members of the media. Organisers said the forum remains committed to driving conversations around policy, innovation, and financial inclusion to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global digital economy.
