Calls for public vigilance, orders security review

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called for public vigilance and ordered a security review amid planned terrorist attacks on places of worship across the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor, who is currently on vacation in Europe, urged residents, particularly those in border communities, to immediately report any suspicious individuals or unusual movements to security agencies.
The governor emphasised the vital role of community intelligence in neutralising security risks, assuring that he will convene a State Security Council meeting upon his return to evaluate the situation and refine the state’s defensive strategy.
“We must provide the police and other security agencies with timely intelligence on any noticeable threats in our communities.

“Given the alleged plots targeting our places of worship, we must remain extra vigilant and report anything unusual without delay,” Adeleke said.
The governor commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for its proactive measures and urged other security outfits to review their operational plans to safeguard lives and property.
He also appealed to traditional rulers to convene local council meetings to help identify unknown visitors and secure their domains.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to post-election peace, promising that state machinery will work aggressively to foil any attempts by bandits or terrorists to disrupt public order.
