The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised Hon. Bamidele Salam for what it described as “derogatory” remarks about President Bola Tinubu and APC leaders on Channels TV.
In a statement issued by the APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, yesterday, the party said Salam—who represents the Ede-North/Ede-South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives—was reported to have condemned Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and the APC election committee’s Director-General, Hon. Wole Oke, when he appeared on the programme.
The APC also stated that Salam described Oyebamiji as “a weakling” who, according to him, would be unable to win the federal constituency.

The APC argued that Salam’s position was “unsubstantiated and reckless,” describing Oyebamiji as a well-informed, hardworking, and intelligent candidate with a strong record in both public and private life.
The party further accused Salam of being provoked by the prospect of losing the governorship election and of showing loyalty to what it called the “political characters” of a rival party.
Olabisi added that Oke’s appointment as Director-General of the APC governorship campaign committee had heightened the fears of the APC’s opponents and claimed Salam’s comments were aimed at attacking AMBO.
The APC said Salam’s outbursts would not prevent the party’s candidate from winning the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
