The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke and his commissioners against accusing President Bola Tinubu of withholding funds meant for local government allocations.

Reacting to a claim by the Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, on a radio programme that the Federal Government has been holding back allocations meant for the state, the APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, yesterday questioned why Adeleke and his commissioners continue to denigrate Tinubu despite what he described as “unusual” increases in federal allocations and other revenue sources available to states.

The APC also advised the education commissioner to be careful in the way he presents facts to avoid misleading the public. Olabisi said the commissioner should remember that the reinstated APC local government chairmen benefited from the February 10, 2025, Court of Appeal judgment, which he said granted all prayers of the incumbent APC state executives performing their constitutional duties in the local government areas.

On the issue of the state technical college in Osogbo, Olabisi noted that Eluwole attributed rainstorm damage to the government’s alleged failure to act, adding that the roofs of some buildings were removed by the storm and that the commissioner later appealed for stakeholders’ support.

The APC further rejected Eluwole’s claim that Adeleke’s government stopped feeding pupils in public schools due to problems with local government allocations, saying the truth was that the Adeleke-led government never ran the school feeding programme for more than three months.

Olabisi also criticised what he described as an empty promise that the governor would employ more teachers in the second term, saying the government has not been hiring teachers.

The APC director also slammed the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, over allegations that the APC was behind the feud between Sally Tibbot and Adeleke’s administration, describing such claims as lies.

Olabisi said Alimi should look for other ways to present information to the public, adding that the people of the state are tired of such accusations. He questioned why commissioners were appearing on radio programmes while Adeleke, who he said should be the chief host, was absent, describing the radio appearances as a misuse of state resources and a diversion without measurable impact.

Olabisi stated that Adeleke’s defeat at the August 15, 2026, governorship election was “imminent”, insisting that the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), would defeat the governor.
