Super Eagles ace Victor Osimhen is the biggest signing in the history of Turkish football, after concluding his deal as a Galatasaray player.

After spending a season on loan, Osimhen shared a photo of Galatasaray’s badge on his Instagram Story, along with a video of himself boarding a plane to Turkey on Wednesday afternoon.

Osimhen, alongside Galatasaray Vice President Abdullah Kavuçku and his agent George Gardi, left Germany on a private jet and landed at Atatürk Airport General Aviation Terminal in Istanbul at 11:20 pm local time, where they were greeted by a large crowd.

He will undergo the necessary medical tests later today (Thursday) and will sign the contract soon after.

This transfer makes Osimhen the most expensive signing, significantly exceeding the €25 million Beşiktaş paid Benfica for Kökçü this summer.

Before he departed from Germany, fans gathered to bid farewell to him, performing the triple chant. Additionally, Osimhen’s flight was tracked live on Galatasaray’s YouTube channel and GSPlus app, allowing over 2.1million fans to follow his journey.

The Super Eagles star striker is familiar with the city, having spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 competitive appearances.

Napoli will receive €40 million immediately, with an additional €35 million to be paid over the next year. The deal also includes a 10% sell-on clause and restrictions preventing Osimhen from joining any Serie A clubs for the next two years.
