The event which took place at the organisations complex in Apapa, Lagos, had in attendance service user’s families, colleagues, Precious Jewels and Wellcare Home Medicals caregivers, all members of staff of the organisation in the whole world, all members of staff of the the caregiving group, and members of the press.

In her speech, the Managing Director of Wellcare Home, and Precious Jewels Elderly Care Home, Dr Jumoke Odunsi commended members of the team for their efforts towards providing quality services to the older adults. “I am humbled by the commitment that each member of our team has demonstrated in providing quality care services to our elderly clients.”

Dr Odunsi said that in the heart of the organisation lies a collective passion for making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly adults who have done so much for the country and their families.
She described them as the vulnerable, unforgotten ones by most people whom the organisation choose to proudly celebrate and honour.
Referring to the elderly adults, she said, “We thank you for what you have done for us. We want to assure you that your legacy lives on and we will build on them all. You have paved the way for countless people in your various fields of endeavour and we want to tell you today that we love and celebrate you”.

Dr Odunsi expressed the organisation’s mission, saying, “Our mission is not just a duty, it’s a calling. Everyone in this organisation work, we don’t have a job with limited job description and closing time, but we work round the clock to ensure that all our clients and residents are happy and comfortable”.

She described the caregivers as the heartbeat of the organisation who have turned their vision into a reality, and for making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly. “I am immensely proud to witness the passion with which each member of our organisation has professional caregiving”, she added.

However, the organisation has had its fair share of challenges, such as the Cashless Policy, but according to Dr Odunsi, they were able to surmount it. “Despite the economic realities, the organisation was still able to grow and expand. We have not diminished but increased’, Dr Odunsi added.

According to her, their commitment to providing compassionate and personalised care has elevated the quality of life of the organisation’s clients and provided the much needed peace of mind to the family members knowing that their aged loved ones are in very good hands. “I am inspired by the stories of joy and fulfilment that have emerged from the bonds we have formed with them. It’s not just about meeting their physical needs, it’s about creating a home and an environment where they are cared for”.

She expressed her deepest gratitude to every member of staff for their hard work, empathy and tireless dedication, saying, “Together we have achieved milestones that go beyond numbers and statistics; We have touched lives of the people we serve in ways that words cannot fully capture”.

She advised them to continue to innovate, learn and grow, and always have the well-being of the older adults at the forefront of their minds. “The challenges we face only serve to strengthen our resolve and deepen our compassion”.

Dr Tosin Odunsi, the spouse of Dr Jumoke Odunsi while speaking, attributed the progress of the organisation to the grace of God. “Despite the challenges this year, God allowed us to grow, hoping that 2024 will be greater for all”, he said.

It was a day of fun with lots of food, drinks, music, dance and drama.
