One year in office: Deacon Iyke Kanu lauds Ambode

Chairman of Etoks Communications, Deacon Iyke Kanu, has lauded Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode, for his achievements in office in the past one-year.
Kanu, who paid the governor a courtesy visit recently accompanied by the executives of Akowonjo Igbo Traders Association, sued for peaceful co-existence between the Igbo and their host community. Describing the governor as a man of peace, he urged him to use his good office to protect the lives and property of Igbo resident in the state.
Kanu said: “His Excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is a detribalised man of peace and a special breed who in a short while in office has made good his campaign promises of developing every part of the state.”
He described the governor as a security conscious leader whose timely intervention forestalled crisis that could have snowballed into an ethnic crisis at Mile 12, Lagos, not too long ago.
“May I also seize this privilege to seek for a more robust relationship and tolerance between the Igbo and Yoruba and equally beg for a level playing ground for all,” he said.
Responding, Akinpelumi Ambode, who represented the governor, appreciated the Igbo for their massive support during the governorship election and assured of peaceful coexistence between the tribes and protection of their businesses in the state. The governor also promised security of lives and properties and equal opportunity for every residence of the state and further thanked Kanu and his team for the noble visit.
Other members of the delegation include Engineer Ekanem Real, Patron; Mazi Udoson Ogbara, Coordinator; Mr. Goodman Ifeanyi, President, Mr. Keven Ogbonna, Secretary; and Chief S. U. Iwuala, Legal Adviser.
