At least one person was killed while many others were injured during a cult clash in Mile 2  and Festac extension areas of Lagos, Tuesday night.

Many suspects have been arrested in connection with cult clash

A source told Daily Sun that the cult war which started Tuesday night lasted till yesterday before the police were able to take over the public space and contained the bloody war

A police source who spoke on the condition of anonymity,told Daily Sun that,” It was a cult clash between two rival groups. They know what they are fighting for .They started the fight since Tuesday night. One person was killed, but the Area E Police Command and the CP tactical team were able to disperse the hoodlums. We have taken over the public space and we have  restored normalcy in  the area. The area is calm.

“ Yes ,I can tell you that only one person was killed. Off course, many of them were injured,but we have arrested many suspects in connection with the crisis. I can’t give you the exact number of arrest made  until we finish profiling the suspects “.

However, the Mile 2 area and Festac extension were still being patrolled by the police to avert the continuation or the needless battle.

A resident of Festac extension, Anthony Okafor said,”We could not sleep Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The cult members were shooting and throwing some dangerous objects at each other. At first,I thought it was the noise of bangers for the Christmas celebration,but when the sound of gun is different from bangers. It was when we discovered that it was not ordinary bangers that we took cover . We were hearing sounds objects being thrown on each other . The shouts of agony showed that some people were injured. We thank the police who quickly intervened”.
