Ohuabunwa Says Africa Must Partner For Economic Growth

From Magnus Eze, Enugu

Sam Ohuabunwa, a prominent businessman and former presidential aspirant in Nigeria, has emphasized the crucial role of collaboration in driving Africa’s economic growth. As President of the forthcoming Africa Economic Summit 2024 in Abuja, Ohuabunwa stressed the need for sub-Saharan African nations to unite in mitigating economic and political volatilities.

“Through collective action and innovation,” he stated, “we can unlock Africa’s vast potential and pave the way for a brighter future for all.”

The summit, scheduled for June 3-4, 2024, will convene under the theme “Africa: Riding the crest of global economic and political volatility.” It will bring together esteemed leaders, including President Joseph Boakai of Liberia, to discuss innovative solutions and impactful collaborations.

“Africa is at a critical juncture,” Ohuabunwa remarked, “and it is imperative that we come together to navigate the complexities of global economic and political volatility.”

Dr. Brian Reuben, Founder of the Africa Economic Summit, expressed his excitement for the event, stating that it presents a unique opportunity to harness Africa’s strengths and chart a course towards sustainable economic growth and development.

Key players in the economies of African countries, including ministers, business leaders, and academics, are expected to attend the summit.

“Their participation underscores the summit’s commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue and exploring holistic solutions to Africa’s economic challenges,” Reuben stated.

With several confirmations still pending, including from the Presidents of Nigeria and The Gambia, the Africa Economic Summit 2024 promises to be a significant platform for driving positive change on the continent.
