A former member of Ogun State House of Assembly, Leye Odunjo has resigned as the deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as he is membership of the party in the state.
Odunjo conveyed his resignation in a letter he wrote and addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, through the state chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele, said the decision to quit his position and membership of the PDP was his personal choice.
The former member of the OGHA, in the letter dated Tuesday, August 30, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent on Friday, he thanked Ogundele and other members of PDP in the state for their love, support and cooperation and noted that he would miss them all. He, however, kept mum on his next political move. “I thank God almighty for giving me the opportunity to serve diligently and loyally since her formation in 1998. I have served the party in various capacities. I was a member of Ogun State House of Assembly for eight years, governorship aspirant, House of Representatives aspirant and the senatorial candidate of the party in the last general election, to mention a few”. “My decision to resign my position and also leave the party is ‘personal and divine.’ I want to use this opportunity to specially appreciate the state chairman and all members of the state working committee for their support, cooperation, and the love we have shared together,” he said.
