Ogun: OSPHAS’s pioneer Rector, Akinbo assumes office, seeks management staff’s cooperation

The pioneer substantive Rector of the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese-Ijebu, Dr Akinbo, Rasaki Yinka, has assumed office and expressed his determination to make the Institution the best in educating healthcare manpower in the country.

Speaking at his investiture as the Rector of OSPHAS, he said that all hands be on deck to make the school which is known for its core competencies of training healthcare professionals, retain its unique position among the polytechnics in the country.

Akinbo further stated that efforts will be directed at relevant agencies to attract much needed infrastructure to the institution to make teaching and learning to both the lecturers and students alike more conducive.

He thanked the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, for upgrading the former Ogun State College of Health Technology, to a full fledged Polytechnic and appealed to the governor for assistance in the area of infrastructure development especially the internal roads of the school to make commuting easier among members of the institution ‘s community.

Akinbo who holds PhD in Statistics had worked as a lecturer and data analysis specialist in the The Polytechnic, Ibadan; Yaba College of Technology; Lagos City Polytechnic and Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, in a career spanning 33 years

Before his appointment as the substantive Rector for OSPOHAS, he has over 10 years experience as Chief Lecturer and Director Industrial Liaison and Placement Office of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and had a successful two-term each as head, Mathematics and Statistics Department and Director UNESCO/NBTE training centre.
