Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has warned to hoodlum in Sagamu, declaring zero tolerance for unlawful gatherings and acts capable of disrupting public peace.
Speaking through Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, during a press briefing at the Sagamu Divisional Headquarters, the police boss said the Command is fully prepared to deal decisively with any form of lawlessness under its ongoing security initiative, “Operation Keep Sagamu Safe.”
Ojajuni stressed that while citizens have the constitutional right to express grievances, such actions must be lawful, warning that any attempt to block roads, attack public institutions, or resort to violence would attract the full weight of the law.
The warning follows a disturbance on April 7, 2026, when commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as Okada operators, blocked the Oba Erinwole GRA Road, Sagamu, disrupting movement and public order.
Police operatives swiftly intervened to disperse the gathering, but the situation escalated as the protesters reportedly extended their actions to the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), TRACE Office, and the Sotubo Health Centre, affecting essential services in the area.

In response, the Command launched intelligence-driven operations, leading to the arrest of 10 key suspects linked to the unrest. The suspects have since been charged to court.
Further tightening security, a joint operation involving multiple security agencies was carried out in the early hours of April 13, targeting criminal hideouts across Sagamu. The operation resulted in the arrest of 146 suspects.
According to the police, those arrested are currently undergoing screening, while individuals found culpable will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta for prosecution.
Ojajuni reiterated that there would be no hiding place for criminal elements, noting that the Command remains strategically positioned to sustain peace and security in Sagamu and its environs.
He also commended the support of the Sagamu Local Government, traditional rulers and collaborating security agencies, whose joint efforts, he said, have contributed significantly to the successes recorded.
Residents were urged to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities to security agencies through designated emergency lines.
