Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Women Mobilisation, Oghenede Emmanuella Ufuoma  has rolled out a series of humanitarian initiatives as part of her continued commitment to grassroots development. The interventions, spanning educational support, financial assistance, youth skill development and welfare packages for over 100 widows, reflect her dedication to uplifting vulnerable residents across the state.

Oghenede, who recently hosted a student sensitisation programme at Ekakpamre Grammar School in Ughelli South Local Government Area, urged them to stay focused on their education to become responsible citizens and fearless leaders of tomorrow.

The outreach focused heavily on mentorship, advising students to shun teenage pregnancy, cultism and other social vices.

She also encouraged the youth to leverage self-development opportunities, particularly the skills acquisition and empowerment programmes driven by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.

To provide practical support, she distributed sanitary pads to female students and mathematical sets to male students.

As a further demonstration of her commitment to the vulnerable, she disbursed over N2.3 million in financial assistance to male and female beneficiaries through a Facebook-driven Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

She also cushioned the financial burden on families in Ughelli South by donating essential school materials, including school bags, uniforms and sandals.

The empowerment outreach earned widespread praise from beneficiaries, community leaders and residents, who described the timely interventions as a lifeline amid current economic challenges.

Reflecting on the initiatives, she reaffirmed her dedication to advancing women’s empowerment, youth development and community-driven interventions that yield tangible improvements in the lives of Delta residents.

In recognition of her outstanding humanitarian track records, she was recently appointed by Soft Nigeria as its Director General for Women & Girl-Child Mobilisation in Delta State. Soft Nigeria is a platform designed to connect youths with job opportunities, foster economic empowerment and promote civic participation in governance.

Beyond welfare and advocacy, Oghenede continues to invest heavily in vocational training. She recently sponsored over 20 youths to attend an intensive Empowerment and Corset Masterclass. The programme, facilitated by the renowned fashion brand, IUF Couture, equipped participants with advanced fashion design and tailoring skills to boost self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
