Obaseki inaugurates 13-man committee for Ogbemudia’s burial

Governor Godwin Obasekiof Edo State has inaugurated a 13-man committee for the funeral of the late military governor of former Bendel State, Samuel Ogbemudia.

The committee, headed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie, is expected to liaise with Ogbemudia’s family for a smooth burial rite for the late military governor.

Members of the committee include the chief of staff to the governor Taiwo Akerele, Osaro Idah, a retired major general Charles Airhiavbere, two state permanent secretaries, six members of the Ogbemudia family

The burial of Ogbemudia who died on Thursday, at the age of 84, has been slated March 17 in his home town in Edo state.

It was gathered that the late former military governor had prepared his grave and planned his funeral before his death.

He also instructed that his corpse should not be kept for more than seven days after his death.

Ogbemudia also instructed that his corpse must not be exposed to the public.
