The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that October salaries for federal workers would be delayed due to an ongoing upgrade of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF clarified that the current software upgrade will not disrupt salary payments. It explained that the IPPIS previously ran on three payroll platforms, and in 2024, one was successfully migrated to a new application known as SoftSuite, leaving two active platforms; EBS and SoftSuite.

According to the OAGF, the federal government decided to consolidate all payroll operations under the SoftSuiteplatform because of the suboptimal performance of the EBS system. It stressed that the ongoing migration is part of an earlier initiative to improve efficiency and accuracy, not a new development.

“The integration of all payroll processes into a single platform has been carefully managed, and while minor issues may arise during the transition, all observed errors and omissions are being addressed promptly. The management does not anticipate any significant disruptions,” it stated.

The OAGF assured federal workers and stakeholders that October salaries remain intact and will be paid as scheduled. It also advised Treasury and IPPIS staff to disregard misleading reports not originating from the office.

“For accurate and verified information, the public is encouraged to rely solely on official communications from the OAGF,” the statement added.
