The General Manager of Ebonyi Transport Service (EBOTRANS), Mrs. Nnenna Igwe has dissociated herself from the recently orchestrated media attack on Governor Francis Nwifuru by her spouse, Chief Emmanuel Igwe.

Chief Igwe, a Special Assistant on Lands during the administration of Chief David Umahi in the state and currently, senior legislative aide to the Deputy Senate President had written an open letter titled “Time to Stop Forceful Takeover of People’s Land in Abakaliki (Parts 1 & 2),” to discredit Nwifuru’s administration.

But his wife, an appointee of the governor has categorically stated that she neither had a prior knowledge of the said letter, nor was consulted or involved in its preparation or publication.

According to the GM of the state-owned transport company, her husband acted entirely in his personal capacity and did not seek her opinion or consent before making the letter public.

She condemned the unwarranted onslaught and apologised to Governor Nwifuru and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, urging that any disagreements or grievances where they existed could be resolved without resorting to contemptuous statements.

“As a proud beneficiary of the goodwill, visionary leadership, and magnanimity of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, I remain steadfast in my commitment to promoting the positive image and remarkable achievements of his administration. I firmly believe that disagreements or grievances, where they exist, should be expressed through constructive and respectful channels rather than through statements capable of undermining the government or its leadership.

“I therefore condemn the unwarranted attacks on our performing governor and reaffirm my unwavering loyalty and support for the Government of Ebonyi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.

“I sincerely apologize to the Government of Ebonyi State, the APC family, and all well-meaning citizens who may have been offended or embarrassed by this unfortunate development. I remain committed to supporting the continued progress, peace, and development of our dear state,” Mrs. Igwe stated.
